Role Overview:
As a Bookkeeper, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, and supporting various financial reporting activities. Your duties will encompass managing cashbooks, general ledger processing, and ensuring a smooth month-end close. You will play a vital role in preparing management reports and assisting with cash flow and general financial planning. This position requires a self-starter with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to ethical practices.
Key Areas of Responsibility:
Accurate processing and management of cashbooks and general ledger entries.
Performing bank and other relevant reconciliations.
Executing timely and accurate month-end closing procedures.
Preparing daily, weekly, and monthly management reports to support decision-making.
Assisting with debtors and creditors management.
Providing support for cash flow analysis and management.
Contributing to financial planning, ad-hoc projects, and initiatives that support business growth.
Maintaining organized and comprehensive financial records for audit and compliance.
Personal Competencies & Skills:
Demonstrated strong financial skills, including experience with cashbooks, general ledger, reconciliations, and month-end processes.
Proficiency in accounting software such as Sage/Pastel, and strong command of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
Highly detail-oriented, organized, and capable of working proactively and efficiently under pressure.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a customer-focused approach.
Possesses a strong growth mindset, is ethical, and consistently delivers results.
Fluent in English, with outstanding written and verbal communication abilities.
Highly analytical with a strong aptitude for problem-solving and critical thinking.
