Operations Manager - Paarl
Operations Manager
Job Type: Full-time
Location: Paarl
Remuneration: R60,000 - R70,000 per month
About the Opportunity:
We are a rapidly expanding contract manufacturer specialising in nutraceuticals, functional foods, and supplements. We provide comprehensive, turnkey solutions from formulation through to packaging, and are growing quickly to serve new clients. To sustain this pace, we require an Operations Manager who can instil a culture of 'right first time' and drive our manufacturing facility towards its full potential. This mission is about building robust systems, fostering discipline, and ensuring accountability across all operational functions.
Role Overview:
As the Operations Manager, your primary responsibility will be to lead the operational team at our Paarl facility. You will be instrumental in embedding structured problem-solving methodologies, enhancing execution quality, and building a disciplined workforce. This role demands a hands-on approach to process improvement, compliance, and strategic operational management.
Key Responsibilities:
Embed structured problem-solving methodologies, such as 5M, 3W, Lean Manufacturing, and Theory of Constraints, throughout operations.
Drive 'right first time' execution, focusing on reducing variability at the root cause rather than merely addressing symptoms.
Build, meticulously document, and rigorously enforce repeatable Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and systems, developed from first principles.
Lead, coach, and cultivate operational discipline within a team of over 20 operators and supervisors.
Ensure the seamless integration of new client production lines, whilst maintaining stringent compliance with FSSC 22000, cGMP, and HACCP standards.
Effectively run the operational cadence, including daily stand-ups, weekly reviews, regular audits, and consistent follow-through on action items.
What We Are Looking For:
A minimum of 3 years' leadership experience in a manufacturing environment (experience in nutraceuticals, food, or pharmaceuticals is highly preferred).
Proven ability to enforce standards, manage deviations, and sustain compliance effectively.
Experience with FSSC 22000 and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) is highly beneficial.
A structured, detail-obsessed, and decisive individual who thrives on SOPs and checklists.
Consistent and firm in holding people accountable, whilst simultaneously coaching for their professional growth.
Working Environment:
This is an on-site, full-time position located at our facility in Paarl.
To Apply:
If you thrive on discipline, standards, and operational excellence, we would be delighted to hear from you. Please submit your CV and a cover letter detailing your relevant experience.
